Continue reading »]]> Sleazy Apparel’s artist, Matt (A.K.A. Fortune Circus) is always looking for new avenues to express and display his art. Dan, SA’s token beardy and Director of PR lives in a basement suite with wood panelling and some baren white walls. After a few discussions, it was agreed that Matt would have free reign to do whatever he wanted to turn the stark white wastelands into a majestic sea of Sleazy inspired art.

Recently, the SA Crew (Rodney and Jamie included) met up at Dan’s for some work and good times. As usual, there’s never a dull moment with the Crew and the following statement was made by Matt about the mural he was working on.

If we could draw an anatomical map of Matt’s body, his heart would be on his bare arm. He makes no aim to hide how he feels about something and his art is true to that.

Continue reading »]]> Hi, I’m Erin, and I’m one of the reps for Sleazy Apparel. I’m just your average yuppie with a passion for fashion. When I was asked to come on board the Sleazy team I didn’t have to even think before I said yes. One of my favourite things about Sleazy’s stuff is that it’s super versatile and can be made to fit anyone’s style and taste.

I like to describe my style as a little bit preppy mixed with some rocker and pretty classic. But I also love to use whatever I can find- scissors, safety pins and elastics to alter clothes to work with my body as well as personal sense of style.

Right now, I’m all about the Sleazy tanks and tees for Spring and Summer.

I don’t like anything super tight, so I rock the tanks in sizes from Medium to XL with a cool bandeau. The “No hitter’ tank is great because it’s a clean but eye catching basic you can play with. I love wearing mine with a bright coloured bandeau and black skinny jeans. Or I’ll wear a black bandeau and add a pop of colour with some crazy coloured platform heels when I’m headed out on the town. I really love these orange ones from ALDO; they have a chunky heel, which I’m in to.

Note: when I’m using L and XL tanks I use a safety-pin to pin the tank straps together in a halter type neckline at the top of the shirt. It makes it more of an A-line fitted shape.

Top off this look with my favourite staple a leather jacket – I’m never without mine by Bod and Christenson - this one is really awesome in beige and black.

Right now I’m completely obsessed with Pinterest – anyone else? There are SO many DIY ideas on there. I started cutting up old boyfriends shirts a couple years ago and found them working their way into my regular weekend wardrobe.

You can easily cut out the neckline of any tee to make it sit slightly off the shoulder to show some skin. This is a great tutorial - minus the flash dance reference.

This summer I really wanna take my creativity to the next level and pair an off the shoulder Sleazy tee or tank with a pair of self embellished cut-offs.

Really, all you need for most of these is a needle and thread, an old pair of jeans that you wanna make into shorts, or a pair of existing jean shorts. I love this pair for its simplicity with a little bit of an edge.

But the girliness of this pair with the lace is awesome too.
